The Agricultural Trades Centre develops technically competent professionals capable of meeting the operational and managerial demands of the modern agricultural sector. The curriculum integrates crop production, animal husbandry, aquaculture, fisheries, and piggery management within a framework of sustainable and commercially viable practice.
Trainees receive comprehensive instruction in soil science, irrigation systems, crop protection, greenhouse technology, and post-harvest handling. In livestock and animal husbandry, modules cover breeding, nutrition, disease control, and farm management for cattle, goats, sheep, poultry, and rabbits. Specialized training in piggery management addresses housing design, biosecurity protocols, feed optimization, and market systems.
The aquaculture and fisheries components provide practical expertise in pond and recirculating system design, hatchery operations, water quality control, fish nutrition, and regulatory compliance.
Emphasis is also placed on agribusiness fundamentals, farm economics, cooperative management, supply chain logistics, mechanization, and climate-smart agriculture. Delivery combines theoretical instruction with supervised field practice and industry-aligned projects.
Graduates are certified for roles in commercial agriculture, agro-processing, fisheries enterprises, extension services, and agribusiness development.
